Recently I visited Miami Florida to see our greentek cold chain system in action. We ran the container loaded with food donated to help families in need in the Miami area through an awesome non-profit.
The container was outfitted with a data logger to watch compressor run time. The unit ran for 28 hours prior to loading the system in the container. During those hours the compressor was on 99% of the time. This container was 10 years old and the insulation in the sides had degraded a great deal as evidenced by the condensation on the outside of the container.
We installed the greetek cold chain system and continued logging the data. The system took about 2 hours to charge and once that was completed the system took over and we saw the compressor only run 9.1% of the total 25 hours that we logged. So, the compressor was off over 90% of the time!
Keep in mind we did not have the Invisaflects coatings installed on this container.
Invisaflects Reflective Roof technology reduces run time by blocking solar heat gain and not holding on to heat at the surface (low emissivity). Research has shown cool down times reduced by as much as 50% and run time hours decreased 30%. Also we have seen fuel savings of 15% to 50% depending on settings and multiple variables.
The bottom line is that in 2026 the cold chain changes forever! These two technologies are going to reduce diesel and electric consumption immensely, like we have never witnessed before.
I believe companies will no longer be able to compete without these technologies installed. This is a powerful one, two punch that impacts profits more than anything that has happened in decades.
